Pollinator Survival

Pollinator Survival is an important aspect in food production and on the Milewski Farm Natural Pollinator food is maintained and reintroduced.  Pollinators are not only birds, bees and other life it is also the wind which pollinates the corn so that kernels can grow to feed the cows!

Pollinator Food

Native planting and maintaining the native milkweed and other perennials is an important first step to pollinator survival.  Another important part is water, habitat and becoming a part of pollinator flight patterns so that they return to help keep our fruits alive and well and ready for the market.

Corn Pollination Science

Corn is pollinated through the wind rubbing the tassels against other plants.  The science of spacing corn plants and leaving open areas for wind to blow increases the quality and amount of each harvest.
